Notes

With the death of her Husband Peter at age 46 and having 10 living children, (2 have died) Katherine is given by her Renberg family a series of greenhouses with which to support herself. Masterfully she directs the older children in the daily business activities of the extensive Greenhouses lining the shores cf Lake Michigan around Belmont Harbor and conducts a very successful business to support herself and her children.

Believing in individual responsibility she assigns specific greenhouses to older children and holds them responsible for production. Younger children are given duties commensurate with their age and abililities.

This is a very successful greenhouse business led by a business minded Matriarch.
