  Land records of Property Insight LLC record that John H. J. Fortman (Johannes Heinrich Joseph Fortmann) purchased a substantial tract of land in Ridgeville, along the future Robie St., to Western Ave and south of Pratt Ave. on September 1, 1849. Three years later, on April 17, 1851 He and his brother Clemens August Ludwig purchase a strip of land from John Wender and Wife. This is probably John Zender and his wife Maria Anna Schmitt aka Schmidt aka Smith, who married in 1842 and who was the daughter of Johannes Peter Schmitt aka Schmidt aka Smith. She is shown on her Father's 1840 Passport issue in Trier Germany. Name: A Gardner, at 4143 N Robey St abt. 1870 [4]
