  	Buried in a stone Mauseleum in 1857 in then "City Cemetery", Chicago's 1st official Cemetery. Ira's Mauseleum was not moved, due to the family's request because of cost, as those in the Lincoln Park Cemetery were moved to other cemeteries. To this day, 26 December 2011, this tomb remains behind the Chicago Historical Society in Lincoln Park.
  		Escaping the Great Chicago Fire Oct 1871......The City Cemetery in today's Grant Park. Stone Mauselium of Ira Couch 1806-1857 still resides behind the Chicago Historical Society.
