Notes: Rosehill was opened on 1 February 1859 on 500 acres of land 6 1/2 miles north of the center of Chicago. The Corner-stone of its Chapel was laid 28 July 1859 with Masonic ceremonies. The 1st interment was Dr. J.W Ludlam 14 Jul 1859. By 1885 30,000 were interred. Montgomery Ward, Richard Sears, Long John Wentworth and Oscar Meyer rest here.
